Fishing trips to suit every requirement either on the Mar Menor or the Mediterranean can is easily be arranged from Tomas Maestre Marina which cater for

hours out on the Mediterranean, fishing for various species of fish.
- The recreational fisherman that enjoys a less serious day out on the
Mar Menor lagoon and the local island and reef areas.

Cabo de Palos is probably the nearest seafaring fishing village with lighthouse

Other places worth visiting for fishing are Santiago de la Riberera ,
Los Alcázares both of which are very old Spanish fishing villages.
It's worth trying to get close to the Gola de Marchamalo, through which the Mediterranean waters communicate with the Minor Sea waters, and where
some crawls are used for the "mújol" fishing.
Local delicacies include (Caldero al estilo Del Mar Menor ) fish stew and
(Sopa de pescado) fish soup, the different types of fish are very typical of
the area and give the dishes a fantastic and individual taste unique to the area.
